When Ferdinand and Ysabella conquered Granada, they freed the Christian slaves and as a symbol of their freedom, put their chains on the wall of the church in Toledo. To me, this was a beautiful symbol that through Christ, we can be free. We don't have to be chained to our mistakes, inadequacies, or weaknesses. In Toledo it was a particularly interesting show of power because of the many religions that once reigned there.
