Today, I went for a run on the river trails just outside of Alcala and was struck by this beautiful view. Dark clouds were hanging over the hills but the rest of the sky was a perfect shade of blue. It was also interesting to see the stark contrast between the red rock of the plateau and the green trees growing on it. The field in the foreground, with its newly-plowed furrows of dirt, completed the scene perfectly. I love that these trails offer a respite from the bustle of city life. Yes, I know Alcala isn't very big in comparison to places like Madrid or Sevilla, but it still feels huge to a small-town girl like me! :)
