The HB double hockey sticks

I work at the library here on campus, and as part of being hired, every student must go to an orientation of sorts where they learn about the library and how to better serve its patrons. During this meeting, I learned a lot of interesting facts about the library. For instance, the HBLL has more than 98 miles of shelving, and more than 6 million items within its various collections. When we got this assignment I thought the Library would be a great subject, so I went to the HBLL armed with a  camera and shot what I saw. This is what I came up with.

I used focus in this first photo to highlight the book in the front. I think this picture helps the viewer see the small part of a much larger whole.
This second photo also utilizes focus as the focus is clear and gets more blurred as the eyes travel to the left.
I thought this photo helped demonstrate the almost infinite nature of books in the library. All of the books go towards the vanishing point at the top of the photo. I also love all of the different colors of books, which adds to the overall feeling of the photo.
I liked this photo because it showcases the widely used staircase, which is indented in places because so many people have been up and down them.
This last picture shows some of the study desks at the library, and a very tired student..
