My excursion through Provo allowed me to sink my teeth in a little deeper, perhaps a little bit more in to the seemingly mundane. Each of these pictures kind of caused me to step back and laughingly "aha" to myself. Who ever would have imagined a tire swing to become an inconspicuous storage spot for one's Coke can collection? Who would ever put two children swings back-to-back? Possibly someone immune to the worry of concussion. Ouch. Then there was the stained glass fixture, inserted in to a sidewalk window. As I went to get the shot, I noticed that I incidentally fit perfectly inside. Then the sign that points legions to the popular Los Hermanos restaurant, ironically situatied with the orange traffic cylinders that have a "Three Amigos" look to them. So much Espanol, so little time. How about the kind soul who thought to preserve the forlorn toddler Nike shoe? Placed safely on a brick window sill. And last but not least (yes, there are 6), the collection of private Provo messages--- another one writes the dust. It was great to take pictures of objects, verses the hundreds we so easily snap of people and mainly significant events we see in our own lives. I really enjoyed the assignment.
