From my walk in downtown Provo, I discovered a push to keep the street historical while the modern society is slowly moving in to fill the empty spaces. There is a lot of diversity manifested on the street as one quickly finds restaurants claiming cuisines from all over the world. With these different cultural influences it is easier for one to forget all together that this is downtown Provo, or maybe the mind wishes to forget that this is Provo after stumbling across a bar with people drinking and smoking outside. The statues of righteousness and peace seem to be holding on as tight as they can to the standards of the past but the reality of the world is coming in with such color and grandness that the small statues of virtue are often forgotten. The historic is crushed by the diversity and modern times that are spreading into every empty corner.
