Provo....You've Changed
I usually avoid downtown Provo. Mostly because when I drive home I can take Center Street, but it is the worst. The traffic, the pedestrians, the "hipsters". That's what would go through my mind when I would make the choice not to take Center Street. Getting to spend some quality time with downtown for this assignment, has changed my view. Yes, the traffic still is not ideal. As far as pedestrians, I was really one of the only people walking around downtown (besides another student taking pictures for this assignment) and it was even dinner time! I found some cool stores while I was walking around. I knew there was a guitar shop downtown, but I did not know how cool of a store it was. I talked with the employee there and I'm actually going to bring my guitar by in a couple of days to get some work done on it. Restaurant-wise, there are a bunch of new places I had never seen. I went to the Dominican Republic one time, and I found a Dominican restaurant right of Center Street that I'm going to have to try. Also I saw this new pastry shop named Bianca's and they are selling kronuts! That's big. Finally, my wife came with me for one of my trips and we found the Kissing Point. That was definitely new and gave me a good chance to steal a kiss. A lot of my previous perceptions of downtown Provo have changed. All it took was spending a little time actually looking.
