In the world of sports today you can find a diverse atmosphere that will lead you questioning the hires of a typical male job that now have been filled by women. Women fans that see females out there coaching or analyzing sports are very excited due to feminism in sports. The popular fan base in the NBA are wondering why Doris Burke is a sideline reporter and ESPN NBA analyst. NBA fans are wondering why a woman would call the NBA games without playing the game herself or being a male has a huge impact as she analyses how men play the game of basketball.
This is a picture perfect moment of how women act, especially towards men; however, this is the first female NFL official. I don't believe that NFL players, coaches, and fans take her very serious as she tries to make calls and refs the NFL games.
Jen Welter was the First Female NFL coach and was coaching the Arizona Cardinals in the Pre Season. As more and more females get the opportunity to coach this will change the outlook on females in male sports. I believe that this will be a common trend to see females trying to change the outlook that "only males can coach male sports".
Whether its the NBA or NFL, women are changing males sports. Becky Hammon was the first Female NBA Coach and she has proven to be hot commodity to change the viewers opinions in males sports. She demands respect from her players and they have seem to listen as she led her NBA summer league team to the title this summer.
These five photos don't compare to the reality that females have impacted male sports. Each one of the photos are women that have passions, dreams, and goals that are making a push for the future of of how us men view the way women are used in sports whether they are reporters, referees, or coaches. This will be an on going topic for years to come because of the lack of knowledge or playing experience that these females have in male sports.
As far as our society has come with women's rights and equality I think we still have a ways to go. Why are we still uncomfortable with the idea of women being coaches and leaders? These women are awesome for doing it anyway. They're paving the way for women in future generations.
