You can look at something without really seeing anything. You can walk down roads, drive past stores and have conversations without really being present. Opening your eyes and your perspective to what is around you can lead to a whole new world. As you take the time to slow down and discover what you have been missing. Pondering this idea allowed me to start to become more sensitive in how I was seeing things. I learned that I tend to see things in stages, the first being literal :what my eyes are drawn to first. The second being being what was around the objects I first saw. Third taking the time to really examine and look outside what was easy. Instead of looking at was obvious. This third perspective is what allows one to reach outside of what is typical and comfortable and to find the extraordinary and odd. Looking at what was unique and different allowed a the photos to tell stories that would other wise have been looked over. What something is in the dark, isn't always what it is in the light. By taking them in the light allowed the story to be told be very bright and simple. The idea that there is so much to be discovered all the time is what lead me as I walked Provo.
Orange you glad I didn't say googily eyes.
