The signifier, an iconic metal bull created by Arturo Di Modica, stands in NYC and remains the symbol of the stock market because it signifies an upward market trend because of its fighting upward horns. Although the stock market has had some ups and definitely some downs, its goal is to continue to rise. If the market remains steady or improves, the bull stands as the symbol of pride. Perhaps when it seems to be going downhill, it stands as a symbol of encouragement. If our stock market once again crashes, the bull becomes a sign of the initial embarrassment and suffering and with time, hope. Through these changes, the bull, even though it remains the same physically, may change its meaning. Currently the market has dropped since the start of the new year, but let's pray that it can recover with ease and always remains as a symbol of success and excitement for the future.
