Squiggly Lines with a Side of Fresh Perception

The Original
(I'm not sure why it looks darker on here...sorry)
Perception #1: Balloons in a Park

Perception #2: Whale Eating a Cherry
(rotated counterclockwise)
For my Perception 1 assignment, I did Exercise 4.  A scan of my original picture is shown above, along with the two different perceptions I got of the picture.  Needless to say, I was pleasantly surprised with these immensely creative results.  Who knew that two people could perceive the same picture so differently?
These two perceptions are completely unique and different, but they both make total sense when compared to the original picture.  Perception #1 makes sense because the circle and squiggly line could easily be perceived as a balloon.  Perception #2 also makes sense because the squiggly line behind the straight line looks like a tongue reaching out to grab the circle.  Very cool.
Something I found especially interesting about this is that the two perceptions reflect the personalities of the people who drew them.  Perception #1 was drawn by a very loving, optimistic person.  I would expect a simple, upbeat drawing from this person.  Perception #2 was drawn by a very talented Art Major here at BYU.  I would expect a very unique, detailed, and creative drawing from this person.
Everyone has a different perception of life based on their background and experiences.  It is truly fascinating to see these unique perceptions in action.
