Gestalt Principles

I saw this spectacular experimentation with black and white make-up in the library. If you look closely it is one girls head. The white side is the girl front facing view while the black make-up portrays a side profile.  This uses the Gestalt principles of figure ground, while also possibly continuation.

7 7 7 7 7 7 7 7 7 7 7 7 7 7 7 7 7 7 7 7 7 7 7           You have to look hard but there is a 24 created out of some absent 7’s to make up 24/7. This represents the Gestalt principle of closure and figure/ground as our brains can figure out the missing 7’s.
