This image from WWF is a great example of the Gestalt Closure principle. The brain easily completes the image even in the absence of body structure lines on the top of the panda. I personally this it makes the white appear in even greater contrast to the black.
This logo represents two main Gestalt principles: Similarity and Proximity. The similarities are the basic patterns going on. Simple, elongated fish design. Groups of three. Bright colors (same colors within the groups of three.) And then proximity is seen in the groups of fish. You can tell they are groups because they are similar within the group and also they are close together.
The significance of the image comes through when one fish breaks the mold and is clearly set apart because it is not following the laws of similarity or proximity like its counterparts.
