This weekend my roommate and I
experienced our first Sunday in an apartment. When we were living at home, or
in the dorms, we never really had to plan TOO far ahead because food would
either be provided for us, or there would be enough groceries stocked in our
homes to make filling Sunday snacks/ meals. This was not the case this Sunday.
When we came home staving at 3 we realized that we were out of bread and did
not have the staples to make any of our favorite snacks. It is amazing how
hunger can spark creativity. I soon started sifting through our food trying to
come up with a nontraditional solution. In the end I decided to make a peanut
butter and jelly burrito. Despite my other roommates initial snide comments, it
was absolutely delicious and I actually preferred it to normal PB&Js. I
also discovered that putting a thin layer of peanut butter on top of tortilla
and then microwaving it for a few minutes is also delicious.
