Gesalt Theory 

I chose to use the figure/ground and closure principles. I was inspired by our activity in class and a classmate who said my figure looked like the Life of Pi movie poster. I decided to recreate the poster with Gesalt principles. What images can you find within the image?

Gesalt principles in everyday life

I ran into these girls and took a picture of them for my fashion Instagram. I later noticed that they are wearing Gesalt principles. Abby, on the left, is wearing similarity with her necklace and figure/ground with her sweater. You first see the sweater as a whole and later notice the knit design. Anna is wearing similarity on her shirt and pants, as well as proximity with her pants and shoes grouped together and shirt and cardigan grouped together. The similar colors of her pant and shoes and her shirt and cardigan group her outfit into two separate looks put together.
