Let's talk books

While looking for a picture to send to a friend, I came across a picture of a window at Powell's City of Books in Portland. I love this picture and realized that it utilized some of Gestalt's Principles. The talking bubbles being close together and thus perceived as one unit show the law of proximity.Because I am trying to teach myself the basics of Photoshop, I took this picture and tried to make a new imagine that utilized more of Gestalt's principles.

This image uses the law of figure/ground because the "let's talk books" appears in front of the book shelf. When picking a background image I tried to find something pretty monochromatic, but failed, so I made the image opaque and put a gradient purple background behind it. This gradient makes the eye even more likely to move to the "let's talk books" showing the law of continuation.
