Gestalt Decor and Love

This first image is my bed comforter. I never really paid that much of attention to the design. In my mind those were just colorful flowers  but after reading about the gestalt principles I discovered that the union of similar objects made those flowers. In this case, they used circles and semi circles to recreate flowers. Also, the proximity of the circles makes us perceive this image as one. Moreover, we can the pink background helps to fill the missing information in some flowers.

For creating this logo I used the idea first of similarity with the lines. It is interesting to see how lines positioned in different directions can create actual letters. Also, with the letter O I kept in mind the concept of continuation so the viewer will see the whole heart. I decided not to make a perfect heart because then I can also used the idea of closure even thou the image is not complete our brains makes us think that that image is an actual heart.
