Passage of time

The question of how to measure time is interesting because I question the ability of measuring the passage of time without comparison to seconds, minutes, hours, days, etc.  Try guess what my night was before the last measurement.  

1 event = 1night

2 blinks = 1 commercial

5 blinks = 1 commercial

2 plays = 1 first down

3 plays = 1 first down

6 times outs = 2 quarters

4 couch sitters = 1 game of Monday Night Football
