Perception #2 Syrian Refugees

I don't think there is a group right now under more scrutiny then the refugees. Do we want them? what should we do with them? if we don't want them then who should take the. Basically they are just a cultural hot potato. Some have already been able to relocate but what I find odd is that for a group of people who are about to become parts of another country. No one talks about who they are?

The world is pretty set on the idea that they are just simply refugees. Their is really no discussion on their culture or their practices are. I know they have predominately Muslim and that right now in our culture has a negative connotation. I think really if people were pro Syrian Refugees immigration they would start highlighting the best parts of Syrian culture that we would get to ad to our own.


Maybe Syrians make dope food. Maybe they are really athletic. They may be great story tellers. I imagine they have a rich culture full of traditions unique to their country. No one talks about it though. They just talk that they need a home, without mentioning what kind of neighbors they might be. People always fear what they don't know. America especially, I feel as a country we are becoming more and more xenophobic which to me is a shame because my favourite part of America was that I grew up with Korean friends, Black friends, My best friend growing up was half Iranian. It's just a shame that all they talk about is the burden they might be to other people when they really might just be a delight.
