Photography Composition

Point of View

This photograph is a snapshot looking up the side of a building. I felt that this was a unique perspective, because it is one that we normally don't experience as human beings. It really shows an interesting view, depicting the texture of the bricks and the grooves that separate them. This perspective shows what it might be like to see the world from a bug's perspective.

Balance

In this photograph, I tried to show how the side of this building balance the trees on the opposite side. I liked how they both followed the same path, seemingly getting closer as the depth of the picture increases, though in reality, the objects are still the same distance apart. However, the objects provide a balanced feel for the picture, not giving too much weight to one side.

Subject/background

This photo clearly focuses on the Life Sciences Building, which is the subject of the picture. However, the background with Y mountain and the sun that is just about to peak over the top provide additional elements to this photo. Just because the focus is the building doesn't mean that the background needs to or should go unnoticed. I just wish I had been able to get the sunrise!
