Calee's Photography Composition NEW

Subject/ Background

I decided to use my dogs as my subjects for this photo and what better place to take it than their main domain, our backyard.  I took the photo from their main hangout place with my backyard in the background.  It is taken from the eye level of the dogs and the fence breaks up the light streaming through but between the posts you can catch glimpses of their territory.

Point of View

I have always wondered what it would be like a dog and how they see the world. One of the most intruiging parts of being a dog is the fact that they get a leash.  They are one of the only animals in the world to wear a leash and so I shot the picture from the point of view of a dog on a walk.  I shot this using my iPhone and I was able to capture a natural focus on the walker.

Balance

The final photo that I chose is a picture that has interesting contrast and conceptual meaning.  The picture has the subject in the top right corner and the shadow falling towards the bottom left corner.  The shadows from the fence add another area of shapes and space that create an overall feeling of balance.  The gaze of the dog follows the flow of the picture and your eyes follow from the top right to the bottom left.
