Photography composition: Kalli White

POINT OF VIEW: My natural instinct was to take a picture of my husband on his bike from a standing position at eye level, because that is how I usually see him mountain biking. Instead, I change the way I captured him as my subject and told the story as if the viewer is going on the adventure with him.

SUBJECT/BACKGROUND: The background is a small part of the story of this dog's. The road in the back gives the sense of him roaming free with the wind in his fur face. However, their are minimum distraction in the background and I didn't include the entire road, which makes the dog the subject of the picture. I also tried to make sure the dog filled the majority of the frame.

BALANCE: I tried to make this image balanced by including the smaller peak on the right side of the frame. I think the boxed peek and roofing on the right command attention and balance the larger peaks on the left side of the image.
