For this assignment I made my own depiction of a reporter's hat and press pass but instead of the slip of paper saying "Press" I put the words "Tell the truth!". Seeking out the truth and telling the stories that the people need to hear is the most important of all journalistic values.
I chose an up-close perspective so that the typography would be the clear focal point. At first I was looking through a bunch of script/handwriting fonts to find a good match, but then I realized it would be best to use my own handwriting to give my poster a more personalized feel. It also gives it a sense of urgency and timliness, another important part of the journalistic process.
