Perception Assignment 1

For this assignment, I walked between 100 E and 400 E in Provo. I eat lunch and dinner in Downtown Provo often, so I drive past these blocks almost every day. While walking down between 300 and 400 I noticed the really old houses, and the really detailed architecture in some of them. The mansion on the corner of 400 E is very stately, and grand. Going further down the road I took note of certain cracks and bumps in the sidewalk, and which lawns were trimmed better than others. (The grass was thicker in some yards.) I remembered visiting the Crandall Museum on the corner of 300 E last semester, and I took note of the pretty architecture of the building that I hadn’t noticed before. I liked the look of the Mortuary, with the big porch and pillars, as well as the apartments between 100 and 200 E. They looked like they were from the set of an old movie, with paneled windows and tan brick. Walking these blocks was nice, and inspecting my surroundings was enjoyable, and I felt like I got to know those blocks a little better.
