Tell My Story

Organization: Tell My Story Incorporated

Vision: This Tell My Story billboard campaign aims to personalize the non-profit's cause by seeking to convey the personalities of individual orphaned and under-privileged children in Botswana. This gives potential supporters and donors the opportunity to connect with these little angels that live half way around the world. The campaign embraces simplicity as a reflection of the brand. Tell My Story began as a mom and daughter just trying to make a difference, one village at a time.

Principles of Design:
1. Composition-- The personality of this campaign is channeled through the compositions of my photographs. Each child is the centerpiece of his or her billboard. In addition to their sweet smiles, each chid is in a different setting, a setting that helps "tell their story". My composition technique also serves to unify the billboards into one cohesive campaign.
2. Typography-- Tell My Story always uses a typewriter-like font. The organization exists to put the stories of orphaned and under-privileged children into writing. Tell My Story provides these children with published, individual photo-biography books. The font choice helps illustrate the purpose of the organization without complicating the message.
3. Color-- The black and white photography creates a sense of sentimentality and simplicity. These children live in a village that doesn't even have electricity; the life they live is one of survival and of necessity. I chose an earthy red tone for my pop of color. This red is commanding while staying true to the organic, natural vibe of Tell My Story.
