The Healers Art

For my project I decided to take pictures today around the theme of "The Healers Art".  I saw these words in the JFSB and really thought about what these words meant.   I took this picture with bilateral symmetry in mind.  The words are divided among a plane and the subject of the photo is in the center to add more symmetry.

1.  Light:  Light is a source of art that allows us to feel happy. It is can be considered the Healer's Art. I think this picture is an example of radial symmetry as everything in the picture is around the center axis or light window.  The picture could also be considered an example of asymmetrical balance because their are different shapes and lights that balance around the axis.

2.  Art: Art itself is a healing art.  We can either create beautiful masterpieces of art, or find it in nature.  I thought this piece of art in the HFAC was very interesting.   This piece has asymmetrical balance between the wood pieces and blue foam looking rectangle.  There is an amount of the blue stuff on each side but in differing proportions.  The wood is also different shapes, but it makes it more balanced.

This art piece has a bunch of intricate colored details that make a whole. The small triangles have bilateral symmetry and reflect each other, but their colors are different.  I thought this was a very cool art piece.

3.  Music:  Music for me is one of the greatest healing arts.   Music is so expressive and can allow us to go places.   This picture focuses on the nearest keys and does not focus on the farther keys.   It uses bi-lateral symmetry and also focal points to catch the eye.

Whether it is music, art, or light, all of these things bring joy and can help us overcome trials or difficulties.
