Carpet Art

Accidental Art:

So I was not able to take a photo and upload it. But I was sitting in my room yesterday and I was looking down at my carpet and I could see that there was something that looked like a figure in the carpet. So I drew it and it came out looking like a bear with a police hat on!

  1. Good project. I always loved staring at the carpet or ceiling looking for abstract shapes in it. I like the bear with a hat pretty creative

  2. I'm glad I'm not the only one who sees images in the most randomn things around the house. Great job drawing. I wish you would have posted a picture of the carpet too for reflection.

  3. That's pretty interesting. There are always weird designs in the things around us. I agree with Collin, you should have posted a picture of the carpet as well. It would be interesting to compare.

  5. This is neat! Not only is your drawing good, but also your idea. My favorite pieces of furniture are the ones with that fabric that changes shades depending on when you rub it and then you can play tic tac toe or see really neat shapes from rubbing against it. I hope you know what fabric I mean, otherwise I sound crazy.

  6. First off, Lolz! That is a fantastic looking bear! Very fierce as well I would add. I'm not completely sure if I know what you're talking about, but I feel like sometimes when I lay on a comfy couch and stare sleepily at the floor, I can see carpet art as well!

  7. I've totally done that with the carpet before! It's crazy what kind of images you can see after you've been staring at the carpet for a long time. You can also get the same effect from plaster on the ceiling.

  8. That's very creative, I love it! It's kind of like laying on the grass and watching as the clouds past by, trying to figure out what each of them look like.

  9. I love it. I used to do that with my grandparents' popcorn ceiling. It's like reverting back to childhood.

  10. Eric, stop being such a good sketch artist. You are making us look bad. At least do the, left handed from now on. Thanks.

  11. Carpet creates the oddest art sometimes but it tends to be the one thing we turn to staring at when we day dream...

  12. Very cool! I love how unique this is. I definitely see images like this all the time but I wouldn't have thought to use this for the assignment.

  13. For real I do this same thing during church. It is strange how every abstract object we see morphs into a face. Why do we identify faces so easily? Clever picture.
