What if the power of love overcame the love for power?

Then the world would not know greed. There would be giving instead of taking. There would be sharing instead of keeping. There would be less pain, grief, frustration, anger, and fear. Our world would be more whole because we would be our brother's keeper. We wouldn't have war. The energy and effort and money that we put into protecting our lives could be used for useful inventions that help others who are in greater need. It is said that joy shared is twice the joy and sorrow shared is half the sorrow. While our world would still know pain and loss, every person in their season of sorrow would have an extra shoulder to lean on as they experience that heartache. If the power of love where to overcome the love for power our government would be honest and leaders upright. Their desire would be to help and there would be no thought of selfish gain. Our news channels would pour out stories of hope rather than darkness. Acquiring wealth wouldn't be the number one way to be successful. Success rather, would be found in lifting another and strengthening feeble knees. If our world would love more than it sought for power, we would know peace.

  1. I appreciated your post and thought process regarding the power of love. It's interesting how we are bombarded with signs, images, and messages all day ever day...but when we come across something really profound (like that bumper sticker) it can cause us to stop and think.

  3. Wow, what a great pic! It reached out and grabbed my attention as I scrolled through the posts. I think it's so interesting how the sticker is surrounded by and covered in rust and dirt. That along with the faded coloring enhance the message that reads on the sticker: this is a message we've steadily be telling a LONG time and we won't stop telling it any time soon.

    Cool.
